Here is the lowdown on where to walk or run in Canberra.

No doubt you’ve all heard of Mt Ainslie as the go to place for Canberran’s who want to do a walk or run on the weekend, but what about all the others out there?

Each week we have a weekly challenge that we do with our clients and one of them recently was to “visit a new local restaurant, park, cafe or shop”. The purpose was to help get to know Canberra better and find some of the unique and special places that make our city so incredible! There were some wonderful new suggestions from people. I myself finally made it to the National Botanical Gardens after not having been there since I was about 10 years old!

One of our trainers, Step Monty, goes up Mt Ainslie every Sunday with a group of keen members to get out and about and do something outside the studio. This year he wants to try and make a number of different mountain climbs, so I thought I’d do some research for him and in the mean time, give you some suggestions of different places you can go as well. This weekend just gone, he and 4 others tackled Mt Majura.

If you have walked or run Mt Ainslie and Mt Majura before, here are some other suggestions of places you can try:

Mt Taylor
Red Hill
Black Mountain
Mt Painter
Mt Franklin
One Tree Hill

If you have some other suggestions, would love to hear from you.
